
Richard Lindley (Chair)
Professor of Geriatric Medicine and Deputy Head of Sydney Medical School, University of Sydney, with clinical work as a consultant geriatrician at Blacktown Hospital. He has a long distinguished academic career in geriatric and stroke medicine, with a particular emphasis on randomised controlled trials, and is currently the Director of the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence for Stroke Trial Innovation and Translation. Professor Lindley is a past President of the Stroke Society of Australasia, previous Board member for the Stroke Foundation, previous Co-Chair NSW Stroke Network, Agency of Clinical Innovation, and a long-standing member of the AuSCR Steering Committee since its inception. Richard also is the co-lead of the Frailty Registry at Blacktown Hospital.
Helen Dewey
Consultant Neurologist and Senior Medical Advisor, Transformation Office, Eastern Health.

Timothy Kleinig
President of the Australian and New Zealand Stroke Organisation, Chair of the South Australian Stroke Community of Practice and Head of the Royal Adelaide Hospital Comprehensive Stroke Centre, one of Australia’s busiest. Professor Kleinig has active research interests across the continuum of stroke and a strong clinical interest in achieving maximising the chances of health outcome equity for all stroke patients.

Lisa Murphy
Chief Executive Officer of Stroke Foundation with more than 25 years’ experience in health. This includes general and emergency medicine, anaesthesia and intensive care and more recently in the non-profit health sector in senior management and executive roles. Lisa is also Chair of the Australian Chronic Disease Prevention Alliance, member of the Australian Stroke Alliance Board, co-chair of the WSO Stroke Support Organization Committee, and Chief Investigator for the Young Stroke Service project.

Andrew Wong
Director of Neurology and Stroke, Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital, Chair of Neurology and Stroke Substreams, Metro North Health, Co-chair of the Queensland Stroke Clinical Network and Associate Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Queensland. Andrew is also Treasurer of the Australian and New Zealand Stroke Organisation and President of the Australasian Stroke Academy.

Letisha Living

With extensive experience in healthcare governance and consumer engagement, Letisha contributes to key national and state-level committees, including the Stroke Foundation Lived Experience Council, StrokeLink Steering Committee, and Queensland Brain Injury Collaborative Consumer Council. Chair of the Consumer Advisory Group for Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, she contributes her expertise to several key committees, including the Gold Coast Health Board Research Committee, Clinical Governance Partnering with Consumers, and Diversity & Inclusion. Letisha also plays a vital role in research, participating in co-design initiatives and investigator teams to enhance stroke and health outcomes through collaboration and innovation.

Julie Davey
A former senior executive in health care and disability services, Julie is now active in the stroke community locally and nationally. Julie is a leading advocate for quality improvement and consumer engagement in stroke policy and research. She has significant expertise in evidence-based co-design, partnering with academics to improve outcomes for stroke survivors. Julie was a finalist in the 2024 Stroke Foundation Life After Stroke Award and Winner of Best Scientific Abstract at Smart Strokes 2023 – the first consumer researcher to do so. A past member of the Stroke Foundation Consumer Council and member of the NSF Living Guidelines Content Steering Committee, Ms Davey regularly receives speaking invitations e.g. Safer Care Victoria; podcasts with leading stroke educators; invited lived experience expert ACTA Scientific Meeting 2022. She is committed to good governance and collaboration.
